We landed in Rio around 10am (9am EST) and then got on a bus for the 3 hour drive up to Juiz de Fora. It seemed kind of long but I think everyone slept most of the time anyway.
Shortly after finally arriving at the team hotel, everyone got on another shuttle bus heading to the track to workout. I didn't really feel like running but I definitely needed to shake out the travel and get the blood flowing again. Mike and I went to the track at 5pm, and I was in a tank and shorts slathered in sunscreen.... forgetting that it's winter in the southern hemisphere! It was dark before I even finished and I could have used a jacket for the ride back to the hotel. After weeks in Ann Arbor's 30C+ and 90%+ humidity, the temps here feel positively blissful.
2 miles easy jogging, drills and 4x strides, unmeasured & untimed. Felt exactly as expected: awful.
Looking forward to an early bedtime and looooong night sleep.
